Which DAWs does CutKnot support?
CutKnot supports Pro Tools, Reaper, and Logic Pro. Other DAWs may be added as the product evolves.
What are the system requirements?
macOS 14 Sonoma or later, on an Apple Silicon Mac (M1 or later). Conversion artifacts are certified for Pro Tools 2026.4+, Logic Pro 10+ and Reaper 7+.
Does CutKnot store my project versions?
No. CutKnot only registers locally the data needed to feed our comparison and audit system. Backing up your original files is your responsibility — we always recommend keeping safe copies of your sessions.
Why am I seeing "tracks will be deleted" when opening my Pro Tools session?
Pro Tools has track count limits based on the installed license tier (Pro Tools, Pro Tools Studio, Pro Tools Ultimate). If the session exported by CutKnot has more tracks than your tier supports, Pro Tools will show this warning and discard the excess tracks. This is Pro Tools behavior, not a CutKnot error. Solutions: upgrade your Pro Tools license or split your project into smaller sessions.
Does buying CutKnot include licenses for third-party software?
No. Acquiring CutKnot does not grant you any license to third-party software such as Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Reaper, Final Cut Pro, or any other DAW or audio tool you use alongside CutKnot. You are responsible for obtaining and maintaining valid licenses for those products directly from their respective vendors. CutKnot only provides interoperability between tools you already have legal access to.
Do conversions preserve plugins and automations?
No. During format conversion (e.g., FCP → DAW), CutKnot does not carry over audio plugins or automations. The exported session arrives in the destination DAW with clips, track organization, and metadata — any effects or automations applied need to be recreated manually in the new environment.
